Six months

Baby should be able to
  • Keep head level when body is pulled to sitting- yes
  • say 'ah goo' or other vowel/consonant combinations- yes, she chatters and sings. Its cute.
Baby will probably be able to
  • Bear some weight on legs when held upright- Definitely, she loves her jumparoo. I think she understands the word 'bounce' because she will do so on command.
  • Sit without support- We're working on this, she still tips.
  • Turn in a direction of a voice- yes.
  • Razz- one of the favored noises
Baby may possibly be able to
  • Stand holding on to someone- not so much.
  • Object if you try to take a toy away- she doesn't care
  • Work to get a toy that is out of reach- yes
  • Pass an object from hand to hand- yes
  • Look for a dropped object- yes if she's on the floor, no if she's in the high chair.
  • Rake with fists to pick up an object- if she wants it.
  • Babble- yep.
  • Feed self cracker- I haven't tried yet.
Baby may even be able to:
  • creep or crawl- She can't get very far when she does
  • Pull up- nope
  • Go from belly to sitting- nope
  • Pincher grasp- nope
  • Mama or dada indiscriminately- I don't remember it, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't happened.

Pushing off

Lillian began trying to army crawl this weekend. She can only move a couple of inches and gets frustrated easily, but I think it is starting to click.

Best Present Ever

One of her gifts came in this box, so we decided to give her the box early. We're so nice, aren't we? She isn't getting the gift until her birthday (really good sale combined with unusable until she's older). She seemed quite pleased with it.

She doesn't seem quite so pleased with sharing.

Teeth

Look, you can see the teeth now!

Lillian got an ear infection last week and has been a cranky little girl at night. She's on antibiotics and ear drops and is smiles and giggles mostly now. She will even take a two hour nap some days. Its so nice.

I've been wrapping presents. I have almost half of them done. It takes so long since I have Lillian. Its all exciting, though.

I choose you!

I'm doing a secret santa thing with one of the forum groups that I'm a part of. This was one of the gifts for the group. But Sean's cats managed to get little dots of something on it. Gross. So, I had to wash it, and giving someone an already washed, tagless thing bothers me. So... here Lillian is wearing it.

Maybe Lillian got stuff on it so she could wear it and make it hers. I wouldn't put it past her, the little brat.

Feet

Lillian has decided that she -loves- her feet. They are almost better than toys. It is so cute, but it does complicate diaper changes.

Her shirt says: 'Does this diaper make my butt look big?' Its very cute. And the answer is, yes, sweetie, it does. But you can't stop wearing it until you and the toilet become buddies. Thanks, Taryn!
